Sara loves coming to the library to play with the Knight of Bearsville and her other friends. She also enjoys coloring.

Our patrons of the month for February are Ben and Eleanor. This brother and sister duo makes us smile every time they enter the library. Eleanor tells us she "always wanted a pet elephant." Ben loves coming to the library because he can get a lot of "good books without spending money." We couldn't have said it better ourselves, Ben! :)

Our patron of the month for March is Craig. Craig is a screenwriter and producer. He is a movie buff who knows more than anyone about any film related topic!!! The staff enjoys lively conversations with Craig who always outsmarts us with his extensive knowledge.
Thomas is our patron of the month for February. Thomas is a movie buff who loves listening to old music. Thomas enjoys coming to the Hazlet Library. The staff loves when Thomas visits because we're sure to learn a new fact about an actor, movie, or musician. :)

Kevin and Chris are our patrons of the month for August. They are two of our volunteers at the library. Recently, they held a Chess Camp for one week in July. Twelve children participated in the camp and learned a great deal from Kevin and Chris while having a blast! Thank you to these two dedicated and awesome volunteers!
We dedicate June and July to Brian Hassell who passed away last month.
Brian came to the library almost every day, and on the days he couldn't he always let us know. He was a big part of our library family and always interacted with the staff and patrons telling us stories and making our day brighter. Brian will truly be missed by all of us, and we will cherish our memories of him.

Our patron of the month for November and December is Tom Durnin. Tom is an accomplished magician and comedian who has appeared (and done well) on America's Got Talent. Tom has over twenty-five years of experience and is gracious enough to perform for us at the Hazlet Library on Monday, November 23 at 6:30 PM. Come out for a unique experience and leave with a big smile on your face.
When asked Tom's thoughts on the library, he compared it to a bridge that "connects people who otherwise would not have known each other." Thanks for all you do for us, Tom! :) Our patrons of the month for September and October are our wonderful "Crochet for a Cause" group. This group tirelessly and unselfishly gives their time to create unbelievable works of beauty to donate to children in hospitals. They are also working to get Museum Passes for our library patrons. Dennis is an incredible help to the staff, setting up and taking down chairs for our Wednesday movies, setting up for some of our evening programs, and even making coffee for the movie-goers! Dennis feels that Hazlet is the "best branch in the county system." Thank you, Dennis! We appreciate you and all of your help!

Gary enjoys organizing a group that attends Lakewood Blue Claws events. Gary says that Hazlet is a "great library" with "great librarians." He also adds, "Let's Go Mets!"

Bill is a local Keansburg photo artist who has exhibited at the Eastern Branch of the Monmouth County Library, Deep Cut Gardens, the Keansburg Waterfront Library, and the SoHo Photo Gallery in New York City. Bill has completed classes at the International Center for Photography (NYC), New York University, and Brookdale Community College in Lincroft. Bill continues to donate his photographic skills to various community groups along the Jersey Shore.
You can enjoy some of Bill's work, which celebrates our neighbors in Keansburg as well as animal encounters and the artistic expressions found in our homes, during the month of May in our meeting room.
